Dental Implant Coordinators
Sherri Wallace
Sherri’s passion for dentistry began at an early age when she would spend time in her uncle’s dental practice in Michigan. She started her career in dentistry in the mid-1980s as an instrument technician/sterilization technician and soon became fascinated with the emerging field of dental implantology. At that time she was able to observe the placement of subperiosteal implants. Sherri continued to pursue her passion for implant dentistry in the early 1990s. After becoming a certified dental assistant, she became employed as a surgical assistant. Over the next 8 years, Sherri gained viable surgical experience as a surgical assistant in both a periodontal and an oral surgery practice by assisting in the placement of multiple endosseous implants. The expertise she acquired as an implant assistant enabled her to become employed by Straumann USA for 2 years as a technical support representative where she obtained a certificate for the Executive Training Program at the Center for Implant Dentistry at the University of FL College of Dentistry. She was able to gain hands on and extensive didactic training in both surgical and restorative implant dentistry. Sherri was initially employed by Dr. Contino in 1998 where she served as a surgical assistant for 3 years and has continued to be a part of the practice in many different capacities over the past 17 years with the last 12 years as the implant coordinator.
